What is the difference between a CPA and other tax preparers?
Anybody can prepare your tax return for you, but not everybody has the same educational requirements or experience. In order to be a CPA in Florida, you must have a bachelors degree and at least 60 hours in graduate accounting courses. You must also pass a four part CPA exam and complete 40 hours of continuing education each year. Tax preparers at HR Block, Liberty Tax, or Jackson Hewitt take a 3 week course before they start preparing your returns. After they prepare your return, it is unlikely that you will see the same person who prepared your return the following year.

What makes Zacharias CPA Group, PA different from other CPAs?
After working for other firms in the past, we focused on fixing the "issues" that clients had with CPA firms. We make a commitment to finish returns within a week so that you are never waiting for your return to be finished. We typically respond to all calls and e-mails within an hour, but guarantee that you will receive a response within a business day. We provide project-based pricing, so you will never be charged for phone calls, e-mails, or even in person consultations. Finally, we work with you to educate you on your finances rather than just tell you what to do an when to do it.

How much experience do you have?
I have been in the accounting industry since 1999 and have worked exclusively with individuals and small businesses since 2002.

What types of clients do you handle?
While we are open to all types of clients, our focus is on indiviual tax preparation and service based small businesses, like attorneys, engineers, contractors, real estate, and information technology. We work primarily with companies with zero to 10 employees and zero to $5 million in revenue.

How much do you charge?
We typically charge $250 for an individual 1040 tax return or $500 for a 1065 or 1120S tax return. However, with any professional service, it often depends on the scope of the project and time involved. We can give a more accurate quote over the phone or e-mail just by answering a few simple questions. That price includes electronic filing, and there are never any additional fees or charges associated with the preparation of the return.

How long does it take?
The length of time can vary from project to project, but we are committed to completing each return within 1 week of receving all of the relevant information.

Can you guarantee that I won't get audited?
Unfortunately, no one can guarantee that you won't get audited. The IRS has different criteria for selecting returns for audit and that includes random selections. What we can guarantee, is that you will be informed on any potential red flags and the risk/rewards for any position you take on a tax issue. We will also help you answer any IRS inquiries and stand by you during any audit.

Are you available after tax season?
Our offices are open all year and we are available Monday through Friday from 9 to 5pm or by appointment on evenings, Saturdays, or Sundays.

How will I be able to reach you?
I am available via e-mail or phone. I also provide my cell phone to my clients so that they can reach me off hours or via text.
